Respected journalist Gwen Ifill will be moderating the debate between the Vice-Presidential candidates Sarah Palin and Joe Biden.

I said to myself, “That sounds like a Bajan name!”

I was right. According to Wikipedia, both of Gwen’s parents were of Barbadian descent, although she was born in Panama.

Ifill was born New York City, the fifth child of African Methodist Episcopal minister, Urcille Ifill, Sr., a Panamanian of Barbadian descent who emigrated from Panama and Eleanor Ifill, who was also from Barbados.[1][2][3]

Gwen is currently marketing her book on Obama.
