Sir David is one of many defendants in a case brought by Nelson Barbados Group Ltd. regarding Kingsland Estates Ltd., Barbados. (Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Court File No. 07-0141)

In this post, I am going to provide a few snips from pages 38 to 56 of Sir David’s testimony. You can download and view a pdf of those pages here. Recap: David Simmons, his brother Peter, and former Government Minister Philip Greaves were all involved with S.B.G.

Documents Lost

Sir David Simmons appears to have lost some S.B.G. company documents (page 50):

Sir David said that private companies are less formal.(page 51):

Former Deputy Prime Minister of Barbados Took Over S.B.G. File

According to Sir David, the former Deputy Prime Minister of Barbados, Philip Greaves, took over S.B.G. File. (see p 53)

No Ethics Laws, Just Guidelines

Sir David said that when he became Chief Justice he was given a few sheets of paper stapled together with some rules on them. These rules were guidelines not law.(see p 54)

Keltruth Corp. Comment

Both the former and past Prime Ministers of Barbados are on the list of defendants in this case. With no laws, it would seem that one has to blindly  trust that the Prime Minister will make the right decision.
