The case of Violet Beckles dominated proceedings for most of the night, with the elderly woman having been to the courts for over 20 years in an effort to claim pieces of land which were left to her by relative, Beatrice Henry.
Mrs. Beckles claims to have the title deeds for the land which Kensington Oval is built on, along with the deeds for the land which the newly-erected judicial building on Whitepark Road lays, amongst the thousands of acres which she claims to have stretched across Barbados.
Are these incidents further eroding the public’s respect for the Barbados Courts? Check this comment.

Anyone aware if either of the two daily papers doing any investigative work into the source of the problem.
Who are the contractors involved , what is the warranty period of their work , who are the insurance carriers for the contractors, who signed off on the punch-thru items.Did the Barbados Buildings department issue a Certificate of occupancy for this building.Plumbing is a lot like eletrical wiring , one has to hope the the wiring isn’t also faulty. Has the Barbados Government formally filed a defective work claim. Could a copy of the contract be made public so that the citizens could review and make sure that that the needed repairs are fully covered. We need to make sure that the proper notifications are made so that we we don’t end up not only working in the dirty water but also holding the dirty end of the stick.
